From the very beginning, Teddy Bear Band's primary goal was simply fun, music, and participation done with a child development perspective. Due to the band's unique gift and reputation for connecting with children and families, Teddy Bear Band has been asked to work with numerous organizations, businesses and schools to develop shows to support educational and social initiatives.

 

 

Child Development Partnerships

  • Minnesota Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Internationally renowned model for early childhood program and where TBB started.
  • NAEYC National Association for the Education of Young Children Conference The Teddy Bear Band has been a presenter at this conference for 8 years.
  • Voices for Children The Teddy Bear Band performs and speaks on behalf of Voices for Children Rally in support of early childhood education and infant toddler brain development research.

  • Stand for Children
  • Success by 6 participate in the "Sing, Read and Play" initiative
  • National Head Start Conferences Keynote presenter for Reading and Lteracy Conference in San Diego and in Minneapolis.
  • Rob Reiner Foundation Particpation with the "I Am Your Child" initiative which provies educational materials on the importance of the first years of life.
  • The 1st Annual Brain Conference Providing information and discussion forums concerning infant/toddler brain development.
  • Children's Trust Fund Teddy Bear Band performances are implemented to strengthen family relationships.
  • Father to Father National fathering initiative
  • Intergenerational Learning Center Developed and performed intergenerational shows

Health and Safety Partnerships

  • Minnesota Department of Health The Teddy Bear Band has developed music for and promoted state health initiatives with the Minnesota Department of Health.
  • Safety Camp The Teddy Bear Band has been the "house band" for Safety Camp throughout the midwest since 1987 and produced "The Safety Show."
  • President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports The Teddy Bear Band was engaged by children's fitness experts and Fitastic Kids to create two "Bear-Robics" fitness recordings. Both were proclaimed "a hit!" by the council. "Bear-Robics" music is currently used to promote physical activity to help fight childhood obesity.
  • D.A.R.E. The Teddy Bear Band has been the "house band" for D.A.R.E. in Minnesota since 1988 and was engaged to record a new theme song for the national D.A.R.E. program.

Environmental Partnerships

 

  • Hennepin County Recycling Initiative The Teddy Bear Band was engaged in 1987 by as the "house band" for their first touring recycling initiative.
  • Green Guardian The Teddy Bear Band supports environment education at school lyceums with the Green Guardian program.
  • Minneapolis Parks The Teddy Bear Band participates in events such as Earth Day with Minneapolis Park and Recreation.
